REGION OF VYSOČINA
The region of Vysočina is situated along the border of Bohemia and Moravia. It is neighbouring with the Region of Pardubice, South Moravian Region, South Bohemian Region and Central Bohemian Region. It is one of three inland regions.

Žďár nad Sázavou district
This path is circular one, and leads along banks of Matějovsky Pond. You find here ten stops altogether, including information table plates, getting acquiantance, first of all, with zoology on each spot of this path. At one stop, there is created ornitology watching place. Nevertheless, you can hear everywhere, when woodpeckers knock out their nests.
On area of this path, there was effected peat-bog excavation during 1958-1970. So, peat-bog area was drained later, and flora and fauna changed. You can find here many sorts of rare plants, used to be grown in peat-bogs. The water in pond - bay became popular place of herons and amphibians. So, in Matějovsky Pond, there were created eleven artificially made islands, enabling nesting places for birds. So, you can watch on water level many sorts of birds. The information tables say you more, how the birds fly up water level and how they dive. Along banks of a pond, there are growing reeds, getting matters from surrounding fertilized fields, which do not belong to pond structure.
