SK, Trips with Kids to Castles and Chateaux
Published: 12.5.2021
Ghosts at Bojnice Castle, the spirit of Likava Castle or the treasure at Hrušov Castle. Take the children to Slovak castles and chateaux and introduce them to the history in an interesting way. Only recently did the second part of the Slovak trilogy on children's exploration of castles see the light of day - the attractive publication "Castles for Children".
In the first part, the book guide focused on children's exploration of the castles of western Slovakia, while in the second part it offers several interesting ideas for trips to the most visited castles in central Slovakia.
25 Castles of Central Slovakia
The authors of the publication went through and mapped 25 castle sites in central Slovakia with their branches, which are among the most interesting. The book is processed in a fun and visually interesting way, it presents not only interesting corners of castles, but also the surroundings.
Legends and Fairy-Tale Creatures
Each performance of the castle begins with an introductory legend, continues with a description of the castle and excerpts from its history, and ends with various pearls and interesting facts from its environment. Children will also find fairytale characters such as kings, knights, princesses and fairies.
Painted Map
The book is supplemented by a painted map of central Slovakia with drawn castles and outlined trips. It also includes windows for castle stickers, which are included with the painted map. The child can thus stick every visited castle in the drawn window and gradually complete all 25 trips to central Slovakia.
Practical Information for Trips
In the guide you will find a lot of practical information, photos and illustrations, you plan a trip once or twice. Although part of the castles can be reached by car, the authors especially recommend hiking and cycling routes. There is also information about the length, elevation or difficulty of these routes. These are mostly averaged data and recommendations, so you can take virtually every trip with children from three years.
You can find the book "Castles for Children" in every good bookstore, e-shop or you can even win! All we have to do is write the names of three castles in central Slovakia to 4gsyQOQa9~Bq2~6_Tlx by May 20. We will publish the winners on our social networks.
