River description:
Varínka is created from several brooks in Vrátna valley and Biely Potok (White Brook), near to the community of Terchová, and flows mostly in south direction. Its river bed takes 167 km, the navigable section makes 13,5 kms. Varínka is violent stony mountain torrent with enormous slope, especially in its upper section. Near to the community of Belá, the valley becomes more wide and the flow is more clear.

- Terchová: birthplace of legendary Jánošík, starting point into Vrátna Valley and Rozsutec Mountain, on hills around there is to be admired people´s architecture of wooden houses. Folklore-Janošík festivals are taken place here.
