Austria: Great Skiing around the Corner
Holidays are ahead. We spend them in peace and quiet amids family circle. But upon days of feasts we should go outside and burn the calories. So what about skiing in Austria?
For instance, visit the large Lower Austrian ski resort of – Hochkar / Lackenhof am Ötscher. Zatímco ve výše položeném středisku Hochkar is a resort at higher altitude so you can enjoy great skiing conditions. There are 9 modern ski tows and cable cars, 19 kilometers of ski slopers or a snowpark. Lackenhof am Ötscher will be great fun for your children especially. There is Sunny Kids Park with a moving strip. Moreover, there are many ski slopes and a snowpark. You can conclude your ski-day at some of the cabins around where you can have some of great local specialties.
Hinterstoder and Wurzeralm ski resorts are both worth visiting. It is situated with beautiful Totes Gebirge mountains in the foreground (Warscheneck mountain to be more exact). Its great accessibility from Pyhrn freeway or even by public transportation makes it one of the most popular ski resorts in Upper Austria.
Hinterstoder ski resort is the only Upper Austrian ski resort where the world cup has happened. It gets as high as 2000 meters above sea level. Sportsmen can enjoy great skiing conditions. The total lenght of local ski slopes is 40 kilometers. All will find what suits their skiing preferences at this place.
Wurzeralm offers great skiing on its 22 kilometers of slopes. The vistas over mountains around are amazing. The fastes cable car in the world takes the guests to Wurzeralm in record time. Sunny Kids Park is up there as well as beautiful slopes and traditional cabins.
Hochkar / Lackenhof am Ötscher (Lower Austria), Hinterstoder-Wurzeralm and some resorts in Upper Austria such as Kasberg and Hochficht or Action Hill in Hochkössenu in Tyrol and the beautiful resort of Heiligenblut am Großglockner in Carinthia, and Schnalstal in Südtirol in Italy - these all belong into one association. This allows easier and cheaper skiing in all nine resorts.
