Česká Třebová
Třebová was originally market community, in 1292 became a town and received an attribute „Česká“. The area formed part of Lansperk and Lanskroun dominion. The town was damaged , in the course of centuries, by many destructive fires, many buildings, including the church, were destroyed. In 1452 there was founded weaving guild and just up to middle of 19th century the home weaving were very extended. Since 1619 existed also the potter guild.
Among the cultural monuments, which are worth to visit, belong the rotunde of St. Catarina with horseshoe apside , built in the middle of 13th century. The rotunde was in 14th century changed to Gothic style and in 16th century decorated with sgraffitos. The main altar comes of 1672, in 1759 it was renewed. The original church of St.Jacob was destroyed by fire in 1636 , but again renewed in 1794-1801 according to the plans of architect J.Hardmunth and on costs of Prince J.Liechtenstein. A Virgin Mary Column of 1706 you can see in front of town hall .
In a sign of a town you find a black cock with a human head, bearing yellow hat. It is, according to the legend, to the honour of clerk, who lost town´s seal-matrix and was sentenced to death. The cock saved him as he this seal-matrix digged out from some place, so he rescued his life to this clerk.
