CZ, Czech Switzerland: Jetrichovice and Maria's Outlook – VIDEO
The village was originally built as a lower castle part of the nearby Falkenstejn Castle on the trade route between Bohemia and Saxony. Unfortunatelly only debris from the castle is left yet Jetrichovice is still inhabited and features romantic wooden houses you which will make you feel like in a fairy tale.
Probably the most popular tourist destination in the area is the well-known Jetrichovice Walls consisting of sandstone rocks, pillars, and towers. There are lookouut points including the Rudolf's Stone, the Vilemina's Wall and the Mary's Rock.
The latter one is one of the best places in the entire national park, from which you can see both sunrise and sunset. With the shelter on top, you can get both - just take your sleeping bag and sleep overnight. Just here, do not breathe fire, all of Czech Switzerland is very susceptible to forest fires and on the opposite Havran rock you will still see what can such a fire cause in a forest.
We recommend you to visit the ruins of Falkenstejn Castle, or take a red marked trail to the romantic valley of the Chribska Kamenice or turn to the yellow trail to see the ruins of Dolsky Mlyn. From here you can continue on the yellow trail to another significant place - Ruzovsky Hill. However, if you do not known Czech Switzerland enough, we recommend most of the time to spend in the national park.
Visiting Jetrichovice you can easily connect with a trip to Hrensko to the Pravicicka Gateor the Kamenice Gorge. If you reserve all day for this trip, you can even go to Hrensko right through the Pravcicka Gate to follow the red mark on foot. Both villages are also lined by roads and a regular bus line.
