This time we set out on the ski hills, cabins and cable cars to Styria. We will talk about the news of this season, sports, relaxation and cultural events.

In the southeast of Austria, Styria's second largest federal state is situated, offering year-round experiences for the whole family.

Perhaps the best news to begin with is that the 10-seat gondola lift has been put into operation at the Planai ski resort in Schladming, the largest investment in the history of the resort. It is the latest high-performance gondola lift of the new "D-Line" with 153 cabins and a capacity of 3800 persons per hour. Visitors have the latest technical equipment - wheelchair access and exit, larger cabins and modern design.

Mariazeller Bürgeralpe also has innovations such as a new cable car, an extension of the snowmaking system or the construction of a mountain inn. Tauplitz offers a new valley station with comfortable ski storage with heated and lockable lockers, a restaurant with regional cuisine and a new car park near the valley station. They also created a 1 km long ski slope in the Lachtal ski resort and improved the snowmaking systems.

Styria will soon have a new ski resort worth more than € 51 million, which is being built at Haus im Ennstal, near the Prenner exit at Hauser Kaibling. A holiday complex with 36 mountain chalets and 30 apartments is being built here. The resort offers direct access to the cable cars across the 4 hills of Schladming or great views of the Dachstein Mountains.

If you are one of the yoga lovers, we will stay in Schladming. They have a special accommodation package that combines culinary experiences with skiing and yoga on the ski slopes. Start the day with a hearty breakfast in Reiteralm, then enjoy skiing and yoga in the Hochwurzen Mountains and finally end up with a vegetarian surprise at Kessleralm (Planai) and a cozy Après-Ski at Hauser Kaibling (Almarena) with culinary delights.

Alpine hikers will come into their own when climbing the Loser Hill. The Loser-Jet cable cars and the 2-seater chairlift will take you to 1600 meters above sea level. From there, you can walk along the groomed mountain path in about 45 minutes to the valley station of the Sonnleitenlift cable car. The same route leads back to Loser-Alm, where you can take a break for tasty snacks served on the terrace with spectacular views. Then you can take a ski lift to the valley or finish off with a toboggan run on the Loser family ski slope.

On the Loser hill itself, winter hiking lovers will enjoy fantastic views of the Tote Gebirge, over the Trisselwand and Altausseer See to the Dachstein Glacier.

Cross-country skiing lovers will appreciate it in St. St. Jakob im Walde. Joglland-Loipe awaits you with 5 km of cross-country trails with a special track cutter that meets the conditions for the World Championship.

In the ski resort of Gaal there is a "Ski GaalaXie" with an offer for beginners and anyone who wants to have fun in the snow. The area of approximately 2 ha offers great opportunities for skiers and tobogganers. The hill can be reached comfortably on a 60 m covered roofed conveyor belt. For example, a roofed "living room" is available to viewers upstairs. Ideal for parents who want to watch their children.

Styria is a top wellness region and offers a large number of spas. You can also enrich your stay in a magical country by attending one of the events. For instance, New Year's Eve in Graz, feasting on the cable car in Tauplitz (Mar 28) or Austria's largest snowshoe festival, which will offer approximately 30 events in 10 days. The festival will take place in the holiday region of Murau-Murtal from January 24 to February 2.

Do not hesitate and visit the white heart of Austria - Styria.
