Murtal is a diverse, colorful area where you will experience many things. If you are planning your vacation, go to Austria. Whilea mountain world of Murtal offers unique sporting experiences, whether you prefer trekking or skiing in 800 to 2700 meters, the valleys of Murtal offer adrenalin on a racing circuit or interesting events that will thrill you. Join us for a walk in enchanting Styrian nature full of meadows, panoramas from mountain peaks or experience an adventure on mountain treks. During your walks you can encounter a special attraction known as Butler shed where you can rest on beds for free, use some sunbathing cream or photopoints (cameras that will immortalize your moments there), new shoe laces or some refreshments like Prosecco or ice cream.

If you decide to visit a green heart of Murtal, the Zirbitzkogel - Grebenzen natural reserve that celebrates its 30th year, you can be part of various events. You can literally “read nature” at various places there or you can “brings stars from the sky” in the first Austrian observatory.

Forests and wood represent a large share of Murtal. There is a crossing across the Styrian wooden track that has three priorities. The “Larch in Offense” project promotes this mystical tree, 8 thematic pathways will introduce you wood from many perspetives, and the last part is the museum of wood that celebrates its 25th year. The museum gives visitor complex information on history of wood in the region.

All of you who like nature and flowers we recommend to visit the mountains of Murtal. In the first 4-5 weeks of summer, a beautiful carpet of red blossoms of rhododendron emerges. Together with regional guids you can experience a beautiful world of red colors and enjoy local delicacies at the same time. Those who love adrenaline should visit the circuit in Spielberg, a place where the German DTM competition is held every year. This year the Airpower 13 is going to take place in Murtal. It is a fascinating aero-show that is going to take place towards the end of June at the Hinterstoisser military airport in Zeltweg.
