Germany: Munich – Oktoberfest, Celebrating (not only) Beer
Beer. A world-spread beverage yet not all the same everywehre. Do you also like having a cold one at your favorite place? What if you go somewhere further than just to the nearest place? Yes, we talk about world's largest beer festival - Oktoberfest.
Germany: Görlitz, Bautzen – A Tour and Visiting Christmas Markets
For we have experience with overcrowded Christmas market in Dresden or Wien, this time we decided to try some less known cities in Germany - Görlitz and Bautzen. I recommend this trip because everything will exceed your expectation. Both cities are close to the border with the Czech Republic. We started in Mlada Boleslav. It took us less than 2 hours to reach downtown Görlitz. Bautzen is only 40 minutes by car further. You can park your car there easily and the Christmas market gets crowded only in the evening.
Germany – The Hanseatic City of Bremen
Bremen and the port of Bremerhaven constitute an autonomous republic. Its official name is Free Hanseatic City of Bremen. It is the smallest and the poorest German Bundesland. Most industrial facilities which employ the inhabitants of Bremen are situated beyond the borders of the city in Sachsen-Anhalt which means that taxes paid by the inhabitants of Bremen don't go into the pocket of the city. However, people born in Bremen are proud of the fact that their city is a Bundesland and that they have some autonomy as well.
Germany, Konstanz – Modern City on Lake Constance
A wall with life dreams, daring statue, Hus' stone, Italian-style streets, cruising near German, Swiss, and Austrian shore.
Germany, Europa-Park – European-Style Fun III
Last week we got some taste of the Greek mythology when we tried Cassandra’s Curse ride. It absolutely messes with your sense of direction. However, there are many other great and amusing rides at Europa-Park.
Germany, Europa-Park – European Style of Fun II
Last week we managed to describe you one of the best European amusement parks. It was, however, a short description, therefore we continue in our journey today. We experience rides which will make you sick on your stomach. But these are fun.
Germany, Europa-Park – European-Style Fun I
Today we take a look inside another interesting theme park. We leave the United States to move over the ocean to the Old Continent.
Germany, Bad Füssing – Thermal Spa near Ceske Budejovice III
We set off early in the morning with a long way ahead of us. We are looking forward to a lake cruise. In 1873 the first steam boat Emperor Franz Joseph I had set sails on the lake and cruises have been made there ever since. The steam boat was a technical marvel the then. It is 33 meters long and also was used as a propriety in couple of movies because it allegedly looks romantic. You can also take a ride by this boat as it is still part of the fleet.
Germany, Bad Füssing – Thermal Spa Near Ceske Budejovice II
So let’s continue in our story where we have left it. We return to Bad Füssing thermal spa. We have seen some of what it has to offer but what else is there to do? You shouldn’t miss a walk in pretty vast and beautiful spa park. There are many flowerbeds which fit together really nicely. The colors will allure your sight. Moreover, there are benches, fountains, and silent nooks – simply a perfect place to relax.
