Predni Solisko in the Tatra National Park is one of the few summits accessible to tourist throghout the year. This summit makes the edge of the Solisko ridge. The mountain rises up to 1 117 m and is a popular point of interest of many tourist treks in winter. The hiking route follows a marked tourist trail which starts at Strbske Pleso, then it crosses ski resort and continues uphill to Pod Soliskem Cabin. Eventually it gets you to the final climb up the summit. The mountain offers particularly amazing vista on its very top – Podtatranska basin, the Low Tatras, or Mlynicka and Furtkotska valley.

In the second part of our series of articles on safety in the mountains we will deal with little Alps High Tatra, which are characteristic of their unique alpine mountains in Slovakia. Their articulation and slope are among the most dangerous pitfalls that ordinary visitors must overcome not only in winter.
If you are planning a trip with your kids, the Tatras are an ideal destination, as well as a new book from the family owned publishing house Dajama. There are 25 field trips, which belong to the most interesting places in the Tatras, especially from the perspective of children.
This time we visit our beloved Tatras, more precisely the village of Strbske Pleso, which is part of the village Strba. From the Tatra Electric Railway - Strbske Pleso stop we go through the tracks to the recently renewed national cultural monument - the Monte Móry lookout tower.
Right on the banks of the Strbske Pleso you will find a unique place to relax - family hotel Solisko. Its location allows you to take day-to-day hiking, cycling and cross-country skiing.
High Tatras are often associated with winter holidays. With skis, mulled wine and views of the beautiful snow-capped mountains. In fact, this region is even nicer in summer and will certainly appeal to lovers of hiking and nature. Today we bring little inspiration.
In the High Tatras, in addition to busy tourist sites, we can also visit less known areas with a lower frequency of visitors. For those who prefer peace and desire to enjoy the tranquil beauty of the alpine nature of Tater, we can recommend hiking through the Copper Valley to the main ridge of the mountain - to the Smooth Saddle.
The ridges and hills of the High Tatras captivate every tourist who likes to take beautiful and demanding daylong trek through the beautiful alpine scenery. One of the touristically attractive and popular sites of this mountain range is Svinica - a distinctive tower mountain protruding on the main ridge of the High Tatras.
Fall is perfect for walks in nature. Today we follow spa sidewalk, which is less known to the public, that we accidentally discovered in the High Tatras, in the village of Stary Smokovec.
The one who loves adventure and is reasonably physically fit, undoubtedly would like a few tips about easy winter hikes Velka Studena Valley, located in the Slovak part of the High Tatras. A year-round open cottage, Zbojnicka Chata (1960 meters), which waits for us in this valley, offers a place to rest, refreshment and cozy accommodation. We can spend here a few days without getting away from the surrounding of Tatranian peaks. Keep in mind, however, that the motion in the Tatras in winter outside marked trails is very limited according to the TANAP rules!
Mengusovska valley, High Tatras, is a place which every fan of alpine tourism must have visited. Its beauty and grandeur is at its best during summer season yet the present article introduces you to tourism in the area in winter.
Perhaps none of the High Tatra summits enjoy such popularity as Rysy does. For fans of alpine tourism, they are an attractive and grateful destination for tours. To get to this favorite Tatra Hill we will introduce the following article.

Jehneci pyramidal peak (2 230 m) one of the accessible summits in the High Tatras. The climb is amazing and valuable experience.
It is not necessary to provide you with some extensive introduction of the High Tatras. These mountains are simply splendid. They lay in the heart of Europe, being a well-known and popular destination among domestic and foreign tourists. Mostly those who love alpine treks travel here frequently. Koprovsky peak (2367 m) is one of the most famous and most visited points of interest there.
Soon winter closure of Tatranian tourist trails (15th June 2014) weill end. Therefore, in advance we bring you an interesting alpine hike trip. Our goal today is the peak of the peaks, the symbol of Slovakia – majestic Krivan in the High Tatras.
As many other places in the High Tatras (2314 meters) even Bystre Sedlo is not that well known among tourists. Perhaps, it is given to the fact that there is no cottage that would offer tourists some refreshments after being whole day on food. Or, perhaps, the route is not leading to any of the High Tatras’ peaks. There are only a few people but you will definitely enjoy your time in untouched Tatran nature.
