Velka Studina valley is a popular winter locality in the High Tatras. It is easy accessible from Hrebienek. You need to follow the redt trail and then make a turn at Nad Rainerovou Chatou signpost. This will get you to a blue tourist trai. This trail is not affected by winter closure. So visitors to the High Tatars can access it throughout the year (up to Zbojnicka cabin). Apart from tourism, Velka Studena valley is a great place for skialpinism. Winter crossing through this Tatranian valley is an interesting and unforgettable experience. Don't forget to visit Zbojincka cabin. Like a lighthouse it provides shelter in white snow covered landscape. Inside you may warm yourselves by a cup of tea or cabbage soup.

As the weather outside is good for winter activities, we decided to go on a moderately demanding ski mountaineering ascent to Skalnata chata. The starting point was the valley station of the cable cars in Tatranská Lomnica, where a large-capacity car park and a complete visitor infrastructure have been built.
In today's article, we will move to the snow-capped High Tatras to take an easy winter ascent to the famous mountain hotel in Velická dolina, which is an ideal starting point for climbing the highest peak in Slovakia - the majestic Gerlachovský štít.

For those who prefer peace and desire to enjoy the tranquil beauty of the alpine nature of Tater, we can recommend hiking through the Copper Valley to the main ridge of the mountain - to the Smooth Saddle.
One beautiful day we came into conclusion to climb one of the Tatranian shields. Therefore, we travelled to Strbske Pleso lake and from there we set off for the Salisko summit.
