River description:
This brook sources in Novohradské Mountains near to state border at community Pohoří na Šumavě in an altitude of 959 m. The brook flows through northwest and northern direction via Novohradské Mountains and mouth from left side to Černá river. Its water-basin makes the surface of 53 km only. This explains its difficulty for its navigation. The brook flows first throughout deep forests, before its mouth there appear meadows along its banks.
The valley is forgotten and romantic. The brook-bed served to short woods navigation many years ago, therefore its bed is from flood-gate partially covered with wooden boards. However, everything is damaged, so some unpleasant places appeared. The slope is quite quick. To the mouth, the slope becomes lower, the brook-bed is wider and stony. The weirs are damaged and are passable. Attention, you cannot stop in some places, especially in case, if you see the trees laying accross the brook.
Pohořský brook is navigable within snow thaw in spring or after heavy rains. The water arise quickly and quickly falls down. As to water level, you can estimate according to actual stand in Černá or Malše rivers. The navigation is quick for experienced drivers who are able for quick orientation.

The flow of the brook is situated in Preserved Nature Area of Novohradské Mountains, where a free camping as well as the entrance to forest roads are not allowed.
