Switzerland, officially the Swiss Confederation, in the past also the Swiss Confederation, is a smaller landlocked country in Central Europe. It lies between Lake Constance, Lake Geneva, the Rhine and the Alps. The state consists of a total of 26 cantons. Today we make a beautiful family trip to enjoy some fantastic hiking. We will visit the amazing alpine resort of Stoos rising above Lake Lucerne.
Today, we take a look at Zurich from bird's eye for we make a hike onto Üetliberg hill which belongs to the Albis mountains. The main train station in the town will be our point of start. Here we get on a train and take ride to the hill.
Several kilometers southwest of Zurich (ca 30) there is the sixth largest Swiss city of Winterhur. Heavily based on service and technology economy, the city inspired us to visit it.
Streaming water, fresh fog of the falls, and climb up into the heart of the Rhine Falls. This is great experience for travellers, adventurers, and families with children.
Once we saw Geneva we move to another interesting Swiss city – Lucerne. It is situated in central Switzerland in the canton of the same name. About 300 thousand people live in the entire canton. So what are the most interesting places in the city on Lake Lucerne?
Last time, we made a brief note on the fact that Geneva is home to many international organizations and that there is the Palace of the Nations, the UN headquarters.
We remain in Europe this time. Our goal is Geneva which is nicknamed the capital of peace. Geneva is the second largest city after Zurich. It is known as the home of many international organizations (WHO, CERN, OSN etc.). One of its major landmarks is the famous Palace of the Nations (Palais des Nations). We will talk about it next time.
Swiss Geneva is located near the border with France, just below the highest peaks of the Alps. It is one of the most important centers of diplomacy and one of the best places to live worldwide. Let's look into it together.
