China: Chongqing: Departure from Hell

Published: 16.11.2013
We just reinforced our opinion that it is difficult to find how you can get where you need to go. The IN thing right now is the mien-c' face concept. We have something similar in the Czech Republic as well. Long story short – you don’t want to loose your face in front of others.

Čchung-čching

Whether that is inappropriately retain that you do not buy the most expensive and largest auto and cell phone, or (and this traveler suffers most) do not want to show something that you do not know.Čchung-čching and cell phone, or (and this traveler suffers most) do not want to show something that you do not know. The most dangerous type is the Chinese who unflinchingly hatch direction, and sometimes even the number of the bus. The perplexing thing is that at the next intersection (at a vain search after that bus) will send you another Chinese on the other side and the other non-existent number. The second type is easily guessable. He looks into the vague and after a while says: "It is far away." It follows that you have to take a cab and don’t annoy him with questions that knows the answer. The third type usually do not have a chance to start a conversation, because looking at the stranger who wants something (probably English!) Ask in advance waving a hand to indicate that you know and go away. And you then plod sweltering streets and not help you :-).

Not only did we not find such sights that we wanted to find Čchung-čching (they were "much" or go there by bus XXXYX), but another disappointment awaited us at the train station. The train station was of course the hill, where we found accommodation. So we ran to find that tickets are sold out for the next days, and that we try the next day. The way up was as sprightly but can not identify. Heroically we repeated the same thing the next day. Tickets are not. To the Chungking ever got, we bought tickets simply the earliest. When we are in a pool of sweat we climbed up the stairs back up salesman who saw us every day to tread the stairs, just slightly smiled and said, "Why did not you go over there in the corner on the escalators?" Note number two: If you do not know what I ask no one to tell you. But surely it tells you when you need it.

In a few days we thus ignominiously got the escalators leading down to the station. I'd be lying if I said that we thought meet spite walk down stairs. But we would only punish ourselves again. "So it looks like loss of face?" Chasing our heads when we tried to pretend that the escalators are not.

Čchung-čching

We waited nine-night journey by train to Guiyang. So we left Chongqing, according to the census of 2010, China's most populous city with more than twenty-eight million inhabitants, we settled down on the upper deck chairs on the train and imagined how it would be in our next town look. Secretly we hoped that local traveling on the train with us not to lie, that's hot climate Chongqing, is a paradise on earth ...

Our first impressions of the Zhangjiajie National Park were not positive from the first moments we were there. Positive impressions, however, were not following. At the entrance we met a woman who insisted on offering us an amazing hotel accommodation in the park at a price that we even had to haggle areas not favored by tourists.
