Kenya - African Green Paradise I.

Kenya is placed in East Africa. The Equator is passing just across the centre of the country. In north, it is neighbouring with Sudan and Ethiopia, in south with Tanzania and in west part with Uganda. In east, the Indian Ocean is washing the country, whereas in south it is Victoria Lake. Total territory surface makes 580 367 square kilometres. Nairobi is a capital.
In Kenya, there is living approximately 39 millions of people, with the following nationalities composition: Kokuos (22%), Luhys (14%), Luos (13%), Kalenjins (12%), Kambaos (11%), Kisi (6%), Meru (6%) and more than 40 next African nationalities (15%), non-African nations (Asiats, Europeans, Arabs - 1%). In Kenya, there are also to be found approx. 220 thousands of refugees from neighbouring countries, first of all from Somalia and Sudan.
These are, first of all, the persons, confessing Protestant faith (45%), followed by Roman Catholics (33%), Moslems (10%), local religions (10%) and other religions (2%).
Languages
The official languages in the country are English and Swahili. Nevertheless, Bantu languages are being used in everyday life, including more than 40 local dialects.
Political status
Regarding state organization, Kenya is a Republic with a President as a Head of State, voted for a period of five years. As fa main legislative institution is concerned, it is One Chamber National Assembly (Bunge) with 224 deputies, elected for the period of five years. As far as the administration organization it is concerned, the state is divided into seven provi
nces and one metropolitan area.
Sightseeings in Kenya
Kenya belongs to one of most picturesque African countries. The territory is rich on many priorities. So, this unique area of broken terrain, gives the country a special character. Moreover, when pleasant climatic conditions, many animals and long coast will be added, so an attractive area is created, very interesting for tourist from all over the world.
