The district city of Poprad is located in northeastern Slovakia and from the time immemorial people regard is as the entrance gate to the Tatras. From the Poprad train station there goes a direct route to the unique pride of Slovaks - the High Tatras. If you want to visit our small high ountains you shouldnt miss this city. Poprad offers to its visitor beautiful and renovated pedestrian zone, unique gallery situated in the former steam power house building, the Podtatranske museum with hundreds of historical items related to this region or relax at nearby aquapark. Poprad is also a city of sport - there is a hockey club and it applied for the winter Olympic games two times. You may find also a brewery there as well as the largest Slovak tea and coffee producer or world-famous train rail carriage factory.

This time we will go to the sub-Tatra basin, approximately 3 kilometers southeast of Poprad. Our goal will be the village of Gánovce, famous for the archaeological finding of a cast of the Neanderthal brain or the fossilized prints of the flora of the time.
The Kozie Chrbty is an area rather unknown to fans of treking. On the other hand, it is a mountain range which you may find quite attractive for its vistas over the Tatras. We take you through the winter landscape around the highest mountain of the said mountain range.
Today we will travel to northeastern Slovakia, to a place close to Stara Lubovna. To the town of Hniezdne. Here you may find a tourist attraction which you would hardly see anywhere else around here.
Slovakia's third largest city is a place you shouldn't miss while traveling in the east of the country. It is one of the most beautiful cities in the area. Today we head to eastern Slovakia in the former village Strážky, which is currently part of the local Spišska Bela. Strážky lies on the main route between the Royal City Kežmarok and the previously mentioned city Spišska Bela. Known for its spectacular castle, an English park and a unique bell tower. And for these unusual sights pointed our steps.
From the list of cities we traveled throughout on our way from Prague to High Tatras Poprad seems to be one of the most beautiful cities. Its beauty is even bigger thanks to a background performed by High Tatras, hanging above the city as some kind of poster.
