In the Krivan park of the Mala Fatra National Park in picturesque Vratna Valley there is one of the best ski resorts that offer perfect sport conditions to sport activities. Vratna - Free Time Zone consists of 4 localities (Paseky, Poludnovy Grun, chleb and Pirslop). Each of them differs from others. No only those who love slope skiing or snowboarding but cross-country skiers as well (22 kilometers of trails), ski alpinism (19 kilometers of trails) or extreme skiing. Mountain and alpine huts have become a popular destination for ski mountaineers in recent years. This is also one of the reasons why a new ski mountaineering guide was created, which offers a selection of the most interesting ascents in the Tatras, as well as the Great Fatra.
The Mala Fatra mountains, north Slovakia, is a popular destination for holidaymakers. The Mala Fatra is mostly covered by dense forests, the highest mountains of this range are bare. Mincol is a well-known mountain of the Mala Fatra. The mountain is inseparable from the Lucanska part of the range.
Tourism is great in winter as well. And this was our motto for our trip to the Mala Fatra Mountains and its peak Velky Rozsutec, the dominant sight of the mountain range.

Although this winter is not one of the most generous, in terms of snow cover. But it is still enough to visit ski resorts, which have artificial snow, so winter sports fans still can enjoy the season.
Small Fatra Mountains - this is most accessible mountaneous target of all Czechs, travelling to Slovakia. The village of Terchová, placed approx. 25 kilometres distant from Žilina, is a mian centre of Small Fatra.
Zazriva mountain village is an ideal place to spend active holidays for all nature lovers. Widely known for not only her beautiful nature that surrounds it, but also a beautiful wooden architecture, folk customs still maintained by and finally "Zázrivské korbáčiky" - traditional Slovak delicacy, whose production in the Zazriva can even try themselves.
Although winter for us this year is very generous in terms of snow, completely free of snow, we're just left. Although not all ski resorts have sufficient snowy, winter sports enthusiasts will certainly come into their own, mainly thanks to artificial snow.
Do you belong among winter sports lovers? Also, you can not imagine a winter holiday without a good snow and well-maintained slopes? Although, I have to admit that in recent years we go with a group on skiing for one week. Usually, we go abroad, but the Slovak mountains, we did not forgot about. My favorite places have been for years the Kysuce and Orava regions.
The community of Terchova (Slovakia) is ensnared with various legends, joined especially with George (Juraj) Janošík, local native. Nevertheless, hardly anybody of Slovakia or Czech Republic does not know "Brigand Captain" and his suite. At present, his existence is reminded with International Folklore Festival - "Janošík Days", the greatest one of such type in Slovakia.
The ski season is on and this year’s winter is not only rich on snow but also many beautiful sunny days. So as soon as we had a free weekend we moved off to nature at least for few days. Our steps led to Orava, one of the most beautiful regions in Slovakia.
