CZ, Kutná Hora – Beautiful in Summer, Divine in Autumn
Vlašský dvůr is a well-preserved castle next to the Church of St. James. It is a former royal mint and a royal palace. It offers two sightseeing tours, the Royal Mint and the Royal Palace. You can also order a wedding ceremony in the Italian Court. Under the Italian Court is a large park, which is still partially under reconstruction (probably by March 2020), but for the most part you can already walk. And now in the autumn? Splendor!
Walking under the vineyards you will reach the famous pearl of Kutná Hora, namely the Cathedral of St. Barbara. It is a late Gothic building and it is truly a jewel of this royal town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. To be more concrete, we mean the historical center of Kutná Hora with the Church of Sts. Barbara and the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Sedlec.
From St. Barbara church you will will walk past the Jesuit Colleges and get to Hrádek to the Czech Museum of Silver. Be sure not to miss the local mine tour, wearing a cloak and protective helmet.
In addition to renowned cultural monuments such as the Cathedral of St. Barbara, you can enjoy the ancient streets, buy souvenirs in small shops, taste wine and in this beautiful period also half-fermented wine from local vineyards or sit in one of the cozy cafes. With the whole family, you can visit Museum of Cubes or Chocolate Museum. Those who love adrenaline will surely wander down to the bobsleigh track. The one in Kutná Hora can be proud of the second longest in Europe.
Autumn has its charm, walking through the colorful city will energize you in the winter months. However, if you like various city festivals, we will give you some tips for the summer. In June the Royal Silvering takes place here. These Gothic celebrations commemorate the glory of the royal mining town. It is an impressive event with a royal procession and a rich program always on the weekend in the second half of June. In August, you can again enjoy the historic Veteran Rallye. Beautiful cars, crews in period costumes, cultural program, it really is a wonderful show.
You can see that going to Kutná Hora in only one season will not be enough. It is an amazing city that will enchant you at any time. For example, the Cathedral of St. Barbara in the current autumn guise... Amazing view. And the very atmosphere of the city is priceless.
