Today we invite you to a tourist walk through the best preserved and at the same time the highest volcanic mountains in Slovakia, which was named after beautiful mountain meadows full of flowers. Surely you already know that this is a mountain beauty called Poľana. Its unique natural wealth has been included in the UNESCO biosphere reserves, and on one of its peaks (Hrb) you would also find the geographical center of Slovakia. Use the following photos to enjoy wonderful views of this hitherto little-discovered mountain range.

We can describe Banska Bystrica easily – mining history and the Slovakian National Uprising. Since time immemorial has been the history of Banska Bystrica tied to mining – mostly silver and copper.
Every Slovak, if you happen to be in Central Slovakia, logically recommends a trip to Banska Stiavnica. However, its bigger "sister" and the natural metropolis of the region - Banska Bystrica deserve attention as well. Let's get together to explore it.
After a long time, we put on our hiking boots again and go to the mountains. This time we will visit the Poľana Mountains, characterized by a massive circular massif, which is the remnant of one of the largest extinct volcanoes in Europe.
Today our steps are directed to central Slovakia. We will visit interesting city of Zvolen, an important administrative and social center of the whole region. The city situated in Zvolen Basin, there are many important cultural and historical sights in the city worth visiting.
In the Slatina River valley, about 14 kilometers from Zvolen, there is the village of Viglas and above, the castle Viglas stands proudly. It is this castle we decided to visit during our trip across Slovakia.
Picturesque village on middle Slovak with a peculiar name can be found halfway between the towns of the district of Banská Bystrica and March.
Ľubietová lies on the border of Slovak Red Mountains and the Central Lubietová Vepor. Stream Hutná flows through it, which is a left bank tributary of the Hron river.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II. Many monuments, museums and open-air museums of military technology have been built over the past decade to commemorate this dark event in our history. They want to remind us not only of the destruction and casualties caused by the war, but also of the victory.
There are many interesting places around Banska Bystrica. Malachov is one of them. We visit it today.
At first glance you might village Malachov located in the middle in Slovak republic considered one of the local part of Banska Bystrica. Appearances are deceptive in this case.
