The Kingdom of Norway is a country, situated in north-west of Scandinavian Peninsula. The country is inhabitated very scarcely. Nearly three fourth of inhabitants are concentrated in the towns. Norway relief was modelled with many glaciers. Along west coasts, numerous fjords could be found, which were established with inundation of glacier valleys. The coasts are divided into parts, steep, with many small islands and bays.

Scandinavia is an annual destination for many travellers, who like rugged landscape, untouched landscape and water with an abundance of fish. Our journey, however, will gradually lead to the Far North, at the very edge of Europe, which already lies behind the Arctic Circle.
We are heading towards Rådhuset which Oslo's townhall built in the Classicist revival style. Its two rectangle towers are hard to not to see. The east tower is 66-meters high. Inside, there are chimes consisting of 38 bells. The northern tower is 63 meters high. The astronomical clock is situated on the south side. The clock is unique and also one of the largest in Europe. Its dial has 8,6 meters in diameter. The hand is 5,7 meters long. To be honest, I didn't like th town hall at first. And I learn the locals also needed some time to adjust. However, they consider it an integral part of their city which is partly given by its beautiful interior.
After a visit in Oslo, there is a long way to our next accomodation - Faksfall camp near Dombås town. Partially, the road takes us along Mjøsa which is the largest lake in Norway. Its total depth is 468 meters.
We can sleep a while longer. Today is a different day. We are about to climb the Bessegen mountain ridge. Its highest peak is Veslfjellet (1 743 m). It is situated in the Jotunheimen mountain area which is the highest in all Norway (there are 29 of the highest peaks of Norway). A third of the area covers the Jotunheimen national park. It is a beautiful place of steep mountains, glaciers, and beautiful valleys.
We visit Lillehammer today which was the place where the Olympics took place in 1994. The bus takes us to ski jump bridges. The entire town is right at our feet. We climb down metal steps and we are lucky. There is a ski training taking place just now. We can see skiers in action.
Many people know Troll tongue. This vista is nothing but world-famous and is considered among the most beautiful vistas on the face of the earth. So naturally we did want to see it with our own eyes. Even though we landed in Bergen, we rented a car so in three hours of ride we reached the beginning of the trail. Tyssendal village is essential place on the trail to Troll tongue.
To all travel lovers, we want to present a new publication by Marcel Králik, which brings engaging reports from little-visited corners of the world. Its content will appeal mainly to lovers of the polar regions and high mountains.
It would be unthinkable to skip another Nordic city - Oslo. We devote two articles to this city. First, we see the most interesting museums there and next time we'll see the city itself.
Another stop on our journey to the north along the eastern coast of Sorfjord coastline is Lofthus – a small village with well known apple orchards. Lofthus is visited by tourists thanks to a steep tourist trail. It goes uphill onto a plateau of Hardangervidda national park. It is a plain area of immense vastness.
People who love winter should be pleased by the following article. This time we take you to world’s largest island. And it name is bit paradoxical. However, in the native language of Greenland it is called Kalaallit Nunaat meanin the land of people.
I suppose that had you travelled to Norway by plane and you intend to see the fjords than you would probably lan dat Bergen airport (about 25 minutes away from downtown). I am not peculiarly interested in large cities still I would recommend you to spend there some quality time.
Sweden and Norway are Nordic countries situated on the Scandinavian peninsula which gives the country its cahracteristic features. The main natural attraction in the country are fjords cutting deep into the mainland. There are many such fjords in Norway. Areas without water are regions where many lakes are located. Or you can stumble upon some beautiful hilly area, plateau, deep forests or mountain ridge with a glacier. Nature is not the only thing worth of visiting. The two largest cities too – Oslo and bergen. The north of the country tourists usually avoid. If you seek to be on some remote place alone this would be the best choice.
Lofoten - pearl of northern nature, located above the Arctic Circle. The archipelago, whose breathtaking scenery you will not leave even for a moment idle.
To see one of the most impressive places of the Norwegian kingdom, we must go to the far north. Port Tromsø is one of the many places where the traveler can enjoy by breathtaking performance in the form of the aurora.
The northernmost point of Europe, a place, where the sun never sets and a piece of rough land, but have always been attracted adventurers from all over the world ... Is it just the northernmost really point Cape North Cape?
We travel again. After the visit in the church town of Gammelstad and Sweden’s capital Stockholm we move to Norway. We visit this time Trondheim, a port city on the shore of Trondheim Fjord and the Nidelva River.
Last time, we visited Norway’s third largest city – Trondheim. Today, we move to Dombas and then we follow a Troll road known as Trollstigen.
Last week we left crooked road of Trollstigen and set off to the unknown. Why the unknown? Perhaps because until today we have not come into conclusion where did we landed with our ferry. What is important that we had the first truly touristy day.
Upon our visit of unique Borgund Stave Church we got on the European route 16 (E16). It took us to the second largest city in Norway Bergen. There we spent a night and the following day.
Upon our visit to Bergen we moved to the capital of the kingdom of Norway, Oslo. As the day was long and difficult, we rather went straight into bed than taking a stroll in the evening city. Yet we intended to explore the city first thing in the morning.
