Region of Nitra - Slovakia
Nitra Region has extent of 6343 square kilometres. It is located on southwest of Slovak Republic, bordering in south with Hungary, in west with Trnava region, in north with Trenčín region and on east with Košice region. Its axis is made by Nitra river, joining north and south part of region.

SK, Podhajska – Sea Water Town

On one winter weekend we traveled to the region of Nitra. Our destination was the town of Podhajska. Its train station is located between Nove Zamky and Levice towns. The name comes from its location on southern slopes of the Pohronska Upland. Its hills sit on the flat and are covered with beautiful oak and locust groves.

Our trip in one of the oldest cities in Slovakia is getting to the end. Last time we paid our visit to the Calvary and Lurdska Cave. Then we went to Nitra’s riverbank called Wilson Riverbank where we concluded last section.

We woke up fresh and met with others in the hotel’s hall. We talked about the trip we had done yesterday when we saw sacral structures, and we planned the trip for the present day that would take us to the Nitra calvary.

Upon conclusion to Nitra Castle tour we had a coffee and thus made impressions of beautiful trip last longer. When we finished drinking our drinks we followed the Royal Trail back to Nitra center, i.e. Lesser Town.

We entered the first courtyard if Nitra Castle while going across a stone bridge. The direction board led us to the road to its individual parts. We started our exploration on a path going to outlook territory where the Diocese Museum is located as well as a bishopric palace.

Last week we entered the castle complex together. We stopped on Pribina Square at Corgon’s statue many consider the symbol of the city. Who he was and how continued our trip around Nitra is about to be revealed on the following lines.

We concluded our hike across Nitra at “historical” graffiti last week. It was interesting for us and it also showed us the direction we would choose. Not even a minute later we were on maintained Zupni Square and a yellow building as its landmark.

Last week we took a stroll in pedestrian zone leading to Nitransky Castle. We stopped at many works of art that depicted fame from the times of Great Moravia. As for architectonic gems, we visited a synagogue, and today we continue in our journey.
