If you enjoy the beautiful Göttweig monastery as a backdrop, advent mood will be perfect.
Christmas Markets in the Mostviertel Region
Pre-Christmas Markets in Mostviertel will be marked by glowing light and a fiery fire. The blacksmith craft has a long tradition in the region. Welded crayfish and wafers on the six Christmas markets are a guarantee for visitors for a unique advent experience. Markets are being prepared for example at the Töpperschloss, St. Peter in Au and Waidhofen an der Ybbs. True Christian Christmas is being prepared by the Seitenstetten Monastery and by St. Mark's Square. Pölten (capital of Lower Austria) will find the largest markets in the region.
Christmas Markets in the Waldviertel Region
Probably the most romantic Christmas markets in Lower Austria can be enjoyed in the unique surroundings of the Rosenburg Castle. Regional vendors, artists and craftsmen will show Waldviertel specialties and art and will seduce you to taste traditional specialties. The Christmas markets in Garsere have been among the most beautiful in the region for years. The atmosphere is enhanced by live music and a fire show. Beautiful markets are also being prepared at Weitra or Jaidhof, Zwettl and Graffenegg.
Christmas Markets in the Weinviertel Region
In Lower Austria in December, the Weinviertel area has also been increasingly popular. The region borders the Czech Republic actually. The cellars are dressed in pre-Christmas decorations and offer great wines and the atmosphere of some unconventional advent. The most popular are the streets in Wolkersdorf, Velm-Götzendorf, Kellergasse in Retz, Europe's longest cellar aisle in Hadres or the Loamgrui streets, Unterstinkenbrunn and Wunderberg.
Christmas Markets in the Vienna Alps
Just two Advent markets will enchant the visitors of the romantic part of Vienna's New Town. On the square, the market opens below the monumental Gothic tower of the temple, and from the beginning of December guests will also welcome smaller and more relaxed markets. An exhibition of creches inside Netterlkeller cellar will buttress the Christmas atmosphere. Before Christmas, the Chateau Reichenau will bring a magic show or concerts of brass music and gospel choirs. If you want to escape the Christmas bustle, you will come to your Seebenteine Advent Market. They will have a carpenter, blacksmith, and artistic turner on the cavalry road. Markets are also being prepared in the open-air museum in Krumbach, the Kirchschlag ruins, the Johannesbachklamm gorge and Rohre's live creches and icy tree.
Christmas Market in the Vienna Woods
If you want to enjoy truly royal advent, go south of Vienna to Baden. You will be greeted by a glamorous Christmas celebration and an amazing local market - the Advent Mile. The Medieval advent market with buyers and craftsmen awaits you in Mödling. Roundabouts, a giant bike, Jesus' post office and carriages are held at Leobersdorf on weekends.
