Vizovice
To important sightseeings belongs Baroque castle of 18th century, (built on place of former monastery), according to planes of architect Frank Anton Grimm. In its rooms you can see collection of rare pictures, mostly from Netherlands painters. In castle park you find two statues of gladiators of sculptor Andrew Schweigel.
In Vizovice is worth to visit also the Abbey of Brethren of Charity with a hospital (second half of 19th century), church of St.Lawrence (1792) and Column of Virgin Mary (1690).
At present, the town of Vizovice is known especially for plum-brandy burning and production ov Vizovice-pastries. Burning-factory of Rudolph Jelínek ie well-known all over the world. The first notice about Vizovice pastries comes of 1850, when Lutonský-Family started to do it - originally from sweet leavened dough (500 g of polished flour and 2 dcl of water). Anyway, the pastries fulfill its decorative purpose.
Vizovice is a native town of actor Bolek Polívka, nicknamed as Wallachian King. A composer Alois Hába was born here. A folk festival „Walachian Fragl“ - Sloes corps – with competition in fruit-dumplings eating, Rock festival Masters of Rock or concerts in castle´s hall – Vizovice Summer of Alois Hába.
