SK, Bezovec: Ski Resort with Long Vistas – VIDEO

Ski season is just getting started so we visit a resort in the midst of the Povazsky Inovec mountain range.

Bezovec Ski Resort is located under the peak of the same name. It is also the highest mountain of the Nizky Inovec mountain range. It is about 20 kilometers from Piestany which makes it a resort with one of the best accessibilities in Slovakia.

If you decide to visit Bezovec, there are six ski slopes with the overal lenght over 3 kilometers. These are as good for beginners as for experienced skiers. In addition to that, there are 4 ski tows with the overal capacity of 3000 skiers per hour. The slopes feature artificial snow cannons and are equiped for night skiing. A nice touch. In the proximity to the resort, you may find accommodation, restaurants, convenient stores, ski rentals, ski services, or a ski school with an experienced instructor. The resort features a small snow park. Several competitions take place here during the season adding to the great atmosphere here.

The resort is at 748 meters (the valley station at 480 meters). This makes skiing greatly dependend on weather. The ski season begins usually in January. They also offer several cross-country ski tracks.

Next to great skiing, Bezovec has great tourism opportunities. Once on the hilltop you may enjoy the beautiful vista over the Povazi region, a ridge of the White Carpathians, Tribec, or the Ponitri region. The resort is great in summer as well. Tourism around these parts is easy and the resort has a bikepark under construction. Also, the resort is a point of start for a trek to Tematin Castle, Topolcany Castle or to a natural alkaline mineral spring going by the name of Dastinska Kyselka k alkalickému minerálnímu prameni – Dastín Seltzer. The planetoid 1963 Bezovec even bears the name of this locality. It is a reminder of many meteoric amateur astronomers' expeditions to this place.

Even though Bezovec is not a large ski resort. It is family orientated. It has good facilities. More demanding skiers will love the center as well. Hence, I highly recommend it to you all.
