This single-nave Renaissance sacral building with a polygonal presbytery was built between 1574 and 1580. Subsequently, in 1672, the tower was restored in the late Renaissance style. One of the most valuable elements of the interior is the pulpit from the second half of the 17th century. Under the church there is a crypt, the interesting thing of which is that it was not built under the nave of the church, but under the sacristy. Only one priest, Pavol Brankovič, was buried in the crypt.
Another remarkable sacral building is the Holy Trinity Sculpture located on Záhorácká Street. However, let's go back to the parish church, which "decorates" the tall Wooden Cross, built in memory of the missions, as well as the Stone Cross from 1873.
You should definitely stop at the Statue of M.R. Štefánik, which was unveiled in 1944. It is situated on the square next to the newly built district office. Nearby is the Statue of St. Anne or the Statue of St. Anne in the maintained park. Antonín Paduánský.
Opposite the park is the charming grounds of the Franciscan monastery and church. We learn from the history of the town that a Renaissance chateau originally stood on the site of the current church. It was rebuilt in 1624 by Count Pavel Pálffy into a monastery, to which a church was added. The Church of God was completed in 1653 and the Count donated it together with the monastery to the Franciscan Order.
The church is connected to the monastery by corridors and a choir. After entering the church, the attention of each visitor is attracted by the magnificence of the main altar, dating from the first half of the 18th century. The altar is carved from wood, colored and richly gilded. The surroundings of the monastery are completed by the missionary Wooden Cross and Calvary.
Malacky is said to have an ideal size and location. In addition to the above-mentioned monuments, the visitor will find picturesque natural nooks with fragrant pine forests full of mushrooms, the Morava River with a rich ecosystem and intricate history, sand dunes and natural lakes or the Little Carpathians full of castles and ruins, caves, former mining galleries and especially hiking and biking trails.
