Beautiful Adamovska lakes belong to the Gbely town disctrict. The lakes are popular mostly among people that want to recreate and people who own cottages. Also several thousand water birds made this place their oasis. A visitor can observe them from nearby observation post.
Adamovska Lakes , are categorized as a birds’ protected zone . The lakes are located near Adamov, a district of the town of Gbely. You can get there simply by turning to Kuty - Holic, or by following the red bicycle trail. The trail goes along the Morava river dam. It is located on the 85th kilometer of the Morava’s creek. From there you have to walk for couple of meters further.

Two gravel-pits, two worlds
Men and birds live there together in symbiosis within relatively small area. They live there despite there goes gravel mining operation. The two lakes were created as a result of mining in the Morava river that goes even in the present. The bigger gravel pit to the north is popular among fishermen and people seeking leisure here. At the smaller lake, to the south, more than 80 kinds of water birds seek refuge there. This is the reason why fishing there is strictly restricted. The southern lake has thirteen small islands on it where are suitable conditions for birds to build nests. Today, the Adamovska Lakes are among the most important ornithological localities not only in the Zahorie region but also in Slovakia. There is the most important nesting place of wild goose. Also, the largest black-headed gull colony in the Zagorie region. The whole region is an important stop for migrating birds.

Wooden bird observation post
In 2009, Gbely built 8 meters high observation tower with the help of eurofunds. Locals call it “AVH”, or "Adamovská
ptaci hledzirna ". You can find it at the beginning of the road spilting both lakes. Before you have to, however, climb 26 steps. Be sure to read an information table. Like the benches and a table, it is located down below the observation post. Up above, there is a nice round view of the landscape. You will enjoy it in any season. However, the best view is in the time hen wild gooses migrate. That means that sometime from February to July, as we had read on the infoboard.

Sun, water fun
People who love sunbathing, swimming, and water sports will enjoy local beaches, social facilities, several trees and bushes that provide shelter in hot summer days. There are also parking lots and several stands with offering refreshments.
