Today's photo gallery to move to the region in west Slovakia, the region ofZahorie. In the northwest it is lined with the Morava river. The river is a border between the Czech Republic and Austria. On the north there are the the White Carpathian Mountains and Myjava Hilly Country. From the east there are the Small Carpathian Mountains. In addition, the Zagoria is a paradise for mushroom pickers on their own here as well as lovers of history, nature, or water sports. Come with us to look at probably the oldest church in the Slovak that even applying for registration in the List of World Cultural and Natural Heritage of UNESCO - Church sv. Margit Antiochia . The second point of interest that captures today's gallery areAdamovsk lakes. These are not only popular area cottagers and lovers of water sports, but also an oasis for thousands of water birds. Adamovská Lake is one of the most important ornithological sites not only in Zahori, but throughout the whole Slovakia. There is a major Slovak wild goose nesting area, living here most Black-headed Gull colony in Zahorie, and this whole site is an important migratory stop for many migratory species.

While in the past there were up to 12 towns (bridges and fords) on the Austrian-Slovak border, where it was possible to cross the Morava River, during the period of the so-called not a single road bridge survived the Iron Curtain. The only exception was the railway bridge between Devínská Nová Ves and the town of Marchegg, but it also operated only in a limited mode.

Today we will go to the Slovak Pomoraví resp. Záhorie, where we visit the village Kuklov. This village is located about 25 km from the district town of Senica and the nearest neighbors are the towns of Šaštín-Stráže, Gbely, Kúty or the villages of Čáry and Borský Svatý Jur.

In the western part of the Slovak Republic, more precisely in the district of Senica, there is the village of Prievaly, which is 34 kilometers away from Malacek and 68 kilometers from the capital. The village became famous for finding treasures in the form of gold and silver coins when demolishing local buildings. You can see part of the so-called Treasure of the Prival Inn in the collections of the Slovak National Museum.

Today's tip for a trip will be Lakšárská Nová Ves, a village located in the southwestern part of Slovakia, in the middle of the Záhorská lowland, in the Morava river basin. It is 17 km away from the district town of Senica and consists of two cadastral areas, namely Lakšárská Nová Ves and Mikulášov. It borders Šaštín-Stráže, Borský Mikuláš or the Záhorie military district.

We invite you on a trip to the village of Petrova Ves (Skalica district), which is located in a small but even more picturesque Chvojnická hills. Its neighbors are Gbely, Šaštín-Stráže, Letničie, Unín, Radimov and Holíč. The territory of the village is largely deforested and intensively used for agriculture. The oldest written mention of the village comes from 1392.

We will go for the beauties of sacral monuments even today. This time we will visit the village of Čáry in the northern part of the Záhorská lowland. It is located in the valley of the river Myjava, about 22 km from the district town Senica. It is adjacent to the important pilgrimage town of Šaštín-Stráže or the village of Gbely, a famous oil field.

Beautiful Adamovska lakes belong to the Gbely town disctrict. The lakes are popular mostly among people that want to recreate and people who own cottages. Also several thousand water birds made this place their oasis. A visitor can observe them from nearby observation post.

Today we will together experience an unforgettable cruise along the Bata Channel, which in the past served as a waterway for the transport of lignite from Ratiskovice lying near Skalice, to the distant Otrokovice, but also for irrigation of the surrounding area. Baťa Canal is probably the most popular water way in Moravia. We took advantage of one of pleasant days of so called "Indian Summer" and passed on sightseeing ship its final section from Strážnice (Moravia) up to Skalica (Slovakia).
