After visiting Trnava last week, today we will set out to explore the surroundings of the picturesque region. We will visit natural places in the form of protected areas, reservations and areas, medieval gems and we will not miss the views from above of this beautiful part of Slovakia.
Last week we learned about the Trnava region from a height, we invited you to nature and visited a medieval ruin. Today we are going for a walk through exceptional cities.
One week later, we return again to the Trnava region, more precisely to the surroundings of Skalice. We will visit the popular tourist boat route, we will also go to the unique car racetrack and end the walk through this region on the wine (cycle) road.
We will go for the beauties of sacral monuments even today. This time we will visit the village of Čáry in the northern part of the Záhorská lowland. It is located in the valley of the river Myjava, about 22 km from the district town Senica. It is adjacent to the important pilgrimage town of Šaštín-Stráže or the village of Gbely, a famous oil field.
We invite you on a trip to the village of Petrova Ves (Skalica district), which is located in a small but even more picturesque Chvojnická hills. Its neighbors are Gbely, Šaštín-Stráže, Letničie, Unín, Radimov and Holíč. The territory of the village is largely deforested and intensively used for agriculture. The oldest written mention of the village comes from 1392.
Today's tip for a trip will be Lakšárská Nová Ves, a village located in the southwestern part of Slovakia, in the middle of the Záhorská lowland, in the Morava river basin. It is 17 km away from the district town of Senica and consists of two cadastral areas, namely Lakšárská Nová Ves and Mikulášov. It borders Šaštín-Stráže, Borský Mikuláš or the Záhorie military district.
In the western part of the Slovak Republic, more precisely in the district of Senica, there is the village of Prievaly, which is 34 kilometers away from Malacek and 68 kilometers from the capital. The village became famous for finding treasures in the form of gold and silver coins when demolishing local buildings. You can see part of the so-called Treasure of the Prival Inn in the collections of the Slovak National Museum.
Today we will go to the Slovak Pomoraví resp. Záhorie, where we visit the village Kuklov. This village is located about 25 km from the district town of Senica and the nearest neighbors are the towns of Šaštín-Stráže, Gbely, Kúty or the villages of Čáry and Borský Svatý Jur.

We will continue our visit to the district town of Malacky today. After getting to know Pálffy Castle with the adjacent park, synagogue or military monuments, we moved to the parish Church of the Holy Trinity, which is one of the oldest preserved buildings in Malacky.
While in the past there were up to 12 towns (bridges and fords) on the Austrian-Slovak border, where it was possible to cross the Morava River, during the period of the so-called not a single road bridge survived the Iron Curtain. The only exception was the railway bridge between Devínská Nová Ves and the town of Marchegg, but it also operated only in a limited mode.
Beautiful Adamovska lakes belong to the Gbely town disctrict. The lakes are popular mostly among people that want to recreate and people who own cottages. Also several thousand water birds made this place their oasis. A visitor can observe them from nearby observation post.
What else we loved about the region of Zahorie located in west Slovakia? Well, where is the only preserved building since the Great Moravia empire? Answers to this question and others are in this article.
