In my opinion, the region of Křivoklát is one of the most beautiful corners of our country. However, by far it doesn't consist only of Křivoklát Castle itself, but a large portion of its charm makes the local deciduous forests, the Berounka Valley and the landmarks that the area hides. One of the places worth visiting is the village of Nižbor thanks to the castle and its surroundings. Let's go to it together.

The village near Vlasim came to the public thanks to the fact that it is adjacent to the famous village of Jankov, where an important battle of European significance took place. The fates of the villages are not only in history. Today, they are connected by two nature trails that will give you a closer look at the Battle of Jankov. The 3 km circular trail leads from the Ratmerice village square with the comic story of the local farmer Ones and we follow his trail.

You can go on this trip every season, even snow posses no limit. From the D10 motorway we head to Bakov nad Jizerou and continue to the end of the village of Mala Bela. Immediately behind the village is the settlement Velky Reckov, here we park and we take a short walk through a national natural monument named Klokocka. The area has been protected since 1956 due to the presence of rare and endangered species of plants and animals.

Without Antonin Dvorak we wouldn't even probably here of this town. Apart from memorials of the famous composer, the area features beautiful forests and many vistas over the Sumava.

Vrch nad Příbramí, where a small wooden chapel for hermits originally stood, has changed over the centuries to the most famous place of pilgrimage in Bohemia. In the 17th century, an extensive building with cloisters and several chapels was built here. The procession of pilgrims is constantly heading here for the statue of the Virgin Mary of Mount Athos.

Pribram is situated at the edge of the Brdske uphills. This area is known for high mining activity in the past. Also, it is one of the most well-known sites of pilgrimage in the Czech Republic.
