New York is known as the City that never sleeps or the Big Apple. It is the largest city in the United States that is also the world center for commerce and finances, and has a significant influence in fashion, education, politics or art.
We have travelled to many places in North America. One of the most recent was Denver. Today we don’t travel far from the largest city of the state of Colorado. We visit Boulder, a neighboring city known for its academic institutions, the Rocky Mountains and particular understanding of how life should be lived.
We return to Legoland, Florida to see some of its most interesting rides.
There is a mountain state in the southwest United States. It is known for beautiful nature, high mountains, ghost towns, important scientific institutions, and developed agriculture. If you guessed Colorado you are right!
In the following weeks, we are going to visit some of the overlooked places in the USA. We begin our tour on the other end of the Atlantic in Pennsylvania, a state in the northwest of the country.
After our last visit to Pennsylvania, today we travel to the neighboring state of Maryland. The state is known mostly for Camp David – the weekend residence of American presidents. Annapolis is teh state capital. The state is among ten smalles US states by area.
Fall is coming so we are about to visit a place of revence on our tour across the US. This place is in the town of Arlington.
Washington D.C. is undoubtedly one of the most visited of American cities. Today we invite you to take a tour with us and see its sights, monuments and nice places.
We finish our several weeks long trip across the U.S. in the very heart of America. In New York City. It embodies freedom and fast life. We take a look at the most famous places and tell you several interesting facts.
Miami and Everglades national park – the two main places tourists visit in Florida's south. Other point of interest should be Florida Keyes (the name is of Spanish origin - Cayo = islet). Over one thousand islands are part of this archipelago. They stretch down from southeast projection of Florida and bend slightly leftwards down to Key West.
We left the Islands of Adventure for another theme park of many others surrounding Orlando, Florida. There is a lot to choose from. We, however, take a look at a place that is somewhat closer to us in some respects.
Marvel superheroes, Jurassic park... So far it seems this theme park is all boys can dream of. However, to many standing for hours in long lines to get a three-minute thrill is rather a sobering moment.
We already introduced you to the areas surrounding Denver. We told you something about its history and today we see its landmarks. But these are not just buildings yet also sport clubs and places in nature. These you definitely shouldn’t miss.
Almost two years while I was working as an au-pair I had lived in suburbia of the center of the whole globe. To describe every attraction worth visiting would take several articles. New York is the most monumental symbol of level of the world civilization. It consists of five districts - Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx and Staten Island.
New York consists of five parts – Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island. Only one of them, Bronx, is located on mainland. Other districts are situated on islands; Manhattan and Staten Islands are on individual islands. Queens and Brooklyn are located on one common island. The city districts are separated with water crossed by about 60 bridges.
A trip long trip abroad means rises one significant question – what I should pack with me? I wouldn’t describe here the whole list what I put into my luggage, of course. There weren’t many things. Important is to not forget important documents.
Previous articles had to demonstrate you the atmosphere a visitor can feel in the United States. Today we will hit the streets of the most important city in the Pacific Northwest.
The EMP museum is a great experience. The building captivates your attention and lures you to explore it closer. There are many exhibitions telling about the cultural character of the city and also showing more general trends of American popular culture.
There are many natural parks in the United States. Maybe you think of Yosmite, Wrangell-St.Elias (the largest US park) or Denali.
In the last part we visited Universal Studios Theme Park. It was, indeed, a glorious experience. So going to Idaho could seem little bit boring.
To Grand Canyon, I traveled from Las Vegas. It was about mid-November so I enjoyed cool temperatures. Before I left, I had decided to treat myself, so I entered a first diner I saw and ordered pancakes for breakfast.
What you think of when somebody says “America”? Perhaps it won’t be Yellowstone National Park nor Hollywood. Even though both places are great. You rather think of the Statue of Liberty or Central Park. The true symbol of the US is New York, the “capital of the world” as it is often referred to.
Across the Atlantic, as we often refer to when we mention the United States, is the capital and the largest city at once of Colorado – Denver. The city of 600 thousand its elevation is exactly 1 mile, about 1.6 kilometers. Therefore, many Americans refer to it as the Mile-High City.
In the middle of the road between Key West (the southernmost island of the Keys island, south of Florida) and the Florida peninsula visit Bahia Honda State Park. The park is located on Bahia Honda Key island, about 7 miles from the island of Marathon. There is the legendary 7-mile bridge. The area between the signs of 36th and 37th mile of the Oceanic Highway 1 is the gateway to the park. The entrance costs 4,5 USD. The park is open from 8 am till the sunset.
