Slovenia: Beautiful Lake Bled and a Town of the Same Name I. Part Slovenia: Beautiful Lake Bled and a Town of the Same Name I. Part

As we decided to spend few days in Slovenia it wouldn’t go without visiting probably the most Slovenian lake Bled. The lake is considered one of Slovenian symbols. This beautiful lake is located in the eastern part of Julian Alps right by a noisy town of the same name.
We arrived at Slovenian town Bled on afternoon. We headed to a tourist information office since we hadn’t book an accommodation. Our accommodation standards were same as they were in Postojna. We were seeking a pleasant favorable accommodation. A kind employee of the infocenter provided us with some handy materials written in English. He immediately started seeking and after few clicks he, to our surprise, made also few phone calls to make sure that accommodation that he was about to offer us was still free. Then, with a smile on his face, he announced he has several alternatives for us and that we could make a choice. And really, we did. He offered us an accommodation in a camp, a hostel, and also in a family hotel in a separated house not far from the lake. To our surprise, prices were really reasonable and much lower than we expected. We choose a cozy house from an extensive offering that was close to the lake and only few steps from the castle. We had all upper floor at our disposal where apart from quality kitchen and living room we had an individual bedroom and a large bathroom with a bath and a washing machine. There was also pleasant outside seating in the garden
The owner of the hotel who waited for us in the front of the tourist center accompanied us to the hotel. We wanted to spend in bled 2-3 nights so we hadn’t to hurry at all. We had a refreshing shower and laid on a bed to get some sleep.
A walk alongside the lake
We started our tour of Bled by a walk alongside a symmetrical lake that had a crystal clear water and many swans and ducks on its surface. The lake is much more beautiful than on the pictures in tourist guides or information posters. Its water is crystal clear and in its middle there is an island lined with a touristic pathway. On the island is a church and a huge castle. The lake has a very peaceful atmosphere. Despite we had a swim in the sea in Croatian Baška summer resort on Krk Island here, between mountains, we felt the autumn is coming. It is an ideal time for exploration of beautiful parts of this beautiful landscape. A walk alongside the lake took us about two hours. Towards the end of the day we stop in a nice coffee bar and tasted local specialty known as Kremna rezina. It was a wonderful desert taste of which was similar to our “kremesh”. But the price we paid for Kremna rezina would buy us many more our “kremeshes”.
The sun set long ago and we also went to bed to a world of dreams. On the next day we would like to see the Bled Castle and a church on the island in the middle of the lake, as well.

Triglav National Park is one of the most popular spots in Slovenia. Its name comes after country's highest mountain which is located within the park. Tourists mostly take short trips or climb up the very mountain. It is strictly forbidden to take a one day trip up to Triglav's peak, staying over night is also forbidden (and only allowed in mountain cabins). The hike is very difficult. You can take it from different directions though.

Even we have heard a lot about its beauties, we never managed to find few days or hours, at least, to stop and explore. At last, we changed it and a part of a late summer vacation we spent in Slovenia.
