The city of Nitra is one of the oldest Slovakian cities. There are important landmarks serving as evidence of its fasinating history. Picturesque nature adds to its unique diversity as there are many hills, parks, and green riverbanks. Nitra is a city of students, diverse architecture, people, and it is also the foundation stone to Slovakian history. You should definitely see it - if not in person, then at least via our gallery.

When discovering the beauties of Slovakia, this time we will stop in the warmest, southernmost and certainly also the most tolerant city, which stretches southwest of the confluence of the Danube and the Hron River. You probably already know that in the following lines we will set out to explore the border town of Štúrovo.
Every Slovak, if you happen to be in Central Slovakia, logically recommends a trip to Banska Stiavnica. However, its bigger "sister" and the natural metropolis of the region - Banska Bystrica deserve attention as well. Let's get together to explore it.
This time we visit the Region of Nitra where the town of Topolcany, a home to 26 thousand, is situated.
Today we will go to the Nitra region for the last time. This time we will take you to the mysterious catacombs, introduce you to the amazing Ponitran cycle route and do not miss tips on trips.
In the southwestern Slovakia lies the Nitra Region, whose natural border with Hungary is the Danube River. It is one of the warmest and at the same time one of the driest areas in Slovakia. It has an important place in history, because its metropolis, ancient Nitra, played an important role in shaping the Slovak nation, its culture and education.
Last week we wrote about the history of construction and the symbolism of plague columns in Europe, today we will focus on these sights in Slovakia. Marian columns are the largest here. These are typical of a depiction of the Virgin Mary with a child or a statue of the Immaculate Conception (Immaculate Conception) on top of them.
Only a few kilometers from the border with Hungary, a city was established, which, thanks to its golden water, became known outside Slovakia. If you visit Hurbanovo, your local brewery will certainly not escape your eye and smell. However, did you know that just behind its walls it is a breath of history? So come along with us to see these two interconnected worlds.
Is there anyone in Slovakia who hasn't heard of Hurbanovo yet? This town is known for its weather forecasts or the golden drink that has been produced here for years. We have not missed our attention either. After visiting the observatory, we will take you through its streets today.
This time we will visit a small town whose name is mentioned daily in Slovakia in the weather reports. In addition to its predictions, it is also known for its observatory, which is the oldest in Slovakia and allows to uncover the secrets of the night sky.
In our journey across Slovakia, we visit Drazovce, a borrough of Nitra situated under the projection of the well-known hill of Zobor.
Should you travel to the town of Bojnice which is very popular, it is likely you will get to Prievidza, a town nearby. Many just ride through it without stopping. It is shame because there is a lot to see in this town central to its region.
On one winter weekend we traveled to the region of Nitra. Our destination was the town of Podhajska. Its train station is located between Nove Zamky and Levice towns. The name comes from its location on southern slopes of the Pohronska Upland. Its hills sit on the flat and are covered with beautiful oak and locust groves.
Today we visit the town of Tesarske Mlynany in the district of Zlate Moravce. The town is situated on both riverbanks of the Zitava River. It is a home to a Roman-Catholic church built in 1763, a 1841 chapel, and recently renovated granary which hosues a museum today and one unusual attraction
Our trip in one of the oldest cities in Slovakia is getting to the end. Last time we paid our visit to the Calvary and Lurdska Cave. Then we went to Nitra’s riverbank called Wilson Riverbank where we concluded last section.
Today we visit city called the mother of all Slovakian cities- Nitra. We decided to spend some number of days in this city to learn about it as much as possible. It is spread over seven hills, and has magnificent nature, sights, and interesting history.
A week ago we have encountered Nitra’s history and present. Today we go for a day-long trip the highlight of which is Nitransky castle.
Last week we took a stroll in pedestrian zone leading to Nitransky Castle. We stopped at many works of art that depicted fame from the times of Great Moravia. As for architectonic gems, we visited a synagogue, and today we continue in our journey.
We concluded our hike across Nitra at “historical” graffiti last week. It was interesting for us and it also showed us the direction we would choose. Not even a minute later we were on maintained Zupni Square and a yellow building as its landmark.
Last week we entered the castle complex together. We stopped on Pribina Square at Corgon’s statue many consider the symbol of the city. Who he was and how continued our trip around Nitra is about to be revealed on the following lines.
We entered the first courtyard if Nitra Castle while going across a stone bridge. The direction board led us to the road to its individual parts. We started our exploration on a path going to outlook territory where the Diocese Museum is located as well as a bishopric palace.
Upon conclusion to Nitra Castle tour we had a coffee and thus made impressions of beautiful trip last longer. When we finished drinking our drinks we followed the Royal Trail back to Nitra center, i.e. Lesser Town.
We woke up fresh and met with others in the hotel’s hall. We talked about the trip we had done yesterday when we saw sacral structures, and we planned the trip for the present day that would take us to the Nitra calvary.
