SK, Liptov Region: Stanisovska Cave – Unique Experience for the Whole Family
After a visit in a small yet very interesting museum called the Underground below the Towers in Liptovsky Jan. The museum is focused on coins from their very beginnings deep below surface until they are actually made in the mint. We quickly moved from Janska Valley to see this. The guide from Stanisovska Cave had been waiting for us there.
Even during a visit to the museum the guide called his colleague to Stanisovska cave . It is likely to take a while to get the last tickets at the box office. Sure you can imagine our disappointment when after getting off our cars in Janska Valley and then run to the box office but we did not see any line waiting. We had already started to think that we rushed unnecessarily. So we sat down on a bench, pulled out of the backpack and some biscuits and all of a sudden a guide came. This was not the one who should be waiting for us. This one just returned from his last tour and told us that we unfortunately missed the last possible time to enter the cave. And that he saw a group of visitors a while ago coming to the entrance to the cave. After our desperate begging, however, he pulled the phone and tried to get in touch with a colleague, or would we still did not wait. However, this was not available, which was a clear sign that is already down underground.
Helpfulness, hard to see nowadays
Again we were surprised by friendliness of local people. Despite the fact that it was "our personal tour guide" after hours, he offered that if you wait a bit, or even accidentally come a latecomer, he us into this underground still take today. Probably do not have to describe who we were happy because we have to visit the Stanisovska cave. We really enjoyed it. It was not an ordinary cave tour that we are used to. Beauty and mystery of Stanisovska cave appears only under the light of a head lamp which you borrow after you purchase tickets. No other special equipment during the tour is required. We purchased tickets, we even got a discount because we have shown tickets we bought at the Museum of the Underground under the towers and obediently waited. Therefore not so closely, before a friend from Poland wanted to buy mead, which are sold in souvenir shops, but since she did not know how this tidbit actually tastes she asked for tasting. To our wonderful surprise we got to taste all, to the drivers, of course.
Professional tour full of humor
It can be said that a visit to the only year-round accessible cave in Liptov , which is open every day, begins on surface. Full title reads of this natural landmark says Stanisovska small cave, which clearly shows that there is certainly also some large. Longer path to the cave we heard how many caves are in the area, the huge cave system here really is whether such Fortunes of enthusiasm cavers had to go before they managed to make the cave to the public. A visit to the Stanisovska cave is really ideal trip for the whole family. Despite the fact that the original cave decorations many remained, as the bulk demolished and took people even in the past, so here you will find a lot of beautiful decorations. Of course there are also several inscriptions on the walls of caves, as it was until recently freely accessible.
Children can meet here several fairy tale characters. Interesting were artificial cavers who approached us, and showed us how they explore the cave. Adults can enjoy a professional, yet sometimes really very funny talk on the cave, which also will give some insight to a complete layman. For visitors there are open 177 m of total 871 yards of explored caves. During the tour, which lasts about an hour, but go up to 410 meters. However, it is clear that even this cave molded water, at present it does not flow through any active watercourse. The Stanisovo cave is very interesting also in terms of air flow. In summer there is a registered significant drafts and temperature here reaches 6.1 ° C. In winter, however, the cave flows freezing cold air, which here creates ice cores. Beautiful winter decoration but is also dependent on rainfall in late autumn. I therefore believe that we manage to visit the cave in winter, so that we could enjoy even such a unique view of the cave bowels. According to previous measurements here even in winter when surveying point in the final courtroom temperature will not drop below 4.5 ° C.
A shaman place making your wishes come true
The Stanisovska cave conceals one more secret. It is a place of shamanic obo, or also called ovo, that you can fulfill your secret desires. This sacrificial place built of stone or tree branches, in the past served in different locations. However, there always had to be housed the guardian spirit, as determined by a shaman. And even small Stanisovska cave in itself one such obo hiding. So if you also have unfulfilled whish, this is another reason why just visit this cave. Just when when leaving the cave to leave a sacrificial place your object such as a rubber band hair, shoelaces and other interesting and something you wish. Unless you have nothing with you, what would you be willing to give up, you have one more option to request the assistance of the spirits of the cave. The guide will give you a small shot to drink the potion and then you make your wish and 10 times circumvent the sacrificial place and think in doing your secret desire. I for sure combined both methods. I left here a personal little thing while I drank the potion of wishes and widely circumvented sacrificial place. Now I have no choice but just to believe that the spirits of the cave will help me fulfill my secret desire.
