Západné Tatry - Roháče (West Tatra Mountains) - Slovakia

Extent: 400 km²

West Tatra Mountains form part of Western Carpathian Mountains, and are situated in north part of Slovak Republic. Its part – Roháče – has Alps´ character.

Highest peak: Bystrá (2248 m).

Surface: afforested, pines, in higher sites, there are to be found dwarfish pine-woods, olough-tails and lichens.

Climatic zone: mostly cold.

Mountain nucleus is formed with granites and crystalic slates, on surface with limestones and dolomites.

On a territory with rare fauna and flora, there are to be found mountain lakes (plesa), tourist communities and well marked tourist trails into valleys or to the tops (peaks).

A part of West Tatra Mountains became a part of Tatra National Park in 1987.

SK, Liptovský Mikuláš – Fascinating World of Optical Illusions

In recent years, modern tourist attractions - galleries of optical illusions - have been added to Slovakia, like mushrooms after rain. You would already find them in every major city. The most famous are certainly the galleries in Bratislava (Tripland), Starý Smokovec (Tricklandia) or Bojnice (House of Illusions).

Today, however, we will go to the Ilusia Gallery in Liptovský Mikuláš. Deciding to easily undermine confidence in our senses, we have entered the world of optical illusions, which has also been recognized by the world-renowned travel portal as one of the most popular tourist destinations for this year. You can take pictures of everything here and you will always have a literally personal assistant nearby, who will be happy to advise you on how to take pictures so that the result is worth it!

Each illusion, whether in the form of trick-art, a game of mirrors, or optical illusion, was described separately with detailed shooting instructions. Gradually, we could stroke an elephant, lose our head, hold our breath underwater in the pool and set a Guinness World Record, walk through the land of the lego or read a newspaper on top of a skyscraper.

We also tried to hide in a mouse hole in front of a huge cat, became part of Edison's light bulb, sat on the ceiling, experienced the feeling of a dwarf, knew infinity, almost sank into the center of the Earth, and even learned to levitate.

Apart from really unconventional fun, we couldn't believe our eyes when looking at the photos we took. We realized that nothing is as it seems at first glance. We took a look under the curtain of film or magic tricks, which may not be expensive at all to fulfill the purpose.

Ilusia Gallery met our expectations. As people walked here exclusively on carpets and only in socks, we felt like we were in the comfort of home. Thanks to the air conditioning, color and safety, the modern art spaces are suitable for all age groups and in any weather or season. At present, you should be informed about opening hours in advance in connection with anti-epidemiological measures.
